Philosophy Café with Peter Singer: March 30

We’re holding our first Philosophy Café for 2010, and we kick off with our own Laureate Professor, Peter Singer. He’ll kick off the discussion with a short presentation on Reason, Morality and Self-Interest.

If morality tells you to do one thing, and self-interest tells you to do another, can reason tell us which to choose?

Hear what Peter has to say on this topic, and engage in freewheeling discussion afterwards. All are welcome! and then we’ll enjoy philosophical discussion with friends, good food and drink.

Here are the details: 6:30pm for a 7pm start at Tsubu Bar in the 1888 Building on the Parkville Campus of the University of Melbourne (enter Gate 6 on Swanston Street). There’ll be good food and drink to order, plenty of people with whom you’ll get to talk philosophy, in a discussion lead by one of the world’s most prominent and exciting philosophers. It’ll be a great evening out.

Spread the word and invite your friends.
